The Triennial now has Chairpersons for all but three committees, Communications, Security South Portal Inspection, and Post Triennial Clean-up.
All of the committees are in need of volunteer workers.
The 2012 Triennial is being put on entirely by volunteers. Although there has been no requirement that attendees volunteer their time to help with the various tasks, the "Locals" simply cannot do it all, as there is just too much to do. Thus, we need the help of each and every Triennial attendee. Each of us would like to be able to participate in the fun, and not be stuck all day doing a volunteer job.
There is no free ride for anyone. Each and every "Local" volunteer has signed up and paid the fee to Pre-Register for the Triennial. They have paid to attend the Triennial the same as all other Triennial attendees, and, therefore, ask that all other Triennial attendees be willing to also volunteer some of their time during the Triennial. If everyone pitches in and helps, then no one has to do all the work and everyone will be able to enjoy the Triennial.
Therefore, our goal is to divide the work at the various volunteer stations, e.g., the Inspection Station, Fuel Depots (propane, gas, diesel), Information Booth, Train Rides, Emergency Track Repair, Loading/Unloading, Shuttle Vans, Trash Pick-up, Back Shop Repairs, and numerous jobs that just need doing.
Our goal is to have attendees volunteer time in two hour shifts. I am working on a sign-up sheet for the Volunteer Sign-up (TAB), and there will be sign-up sheets available at the Triennial for anyone who finds theirself having a couple hours to spare.
