Although there are no shower facilities available for campers at TM, the Wagon Wheel and Melita's RV parks will let you take a shower for a fee. If you go north 7 miles to Collier State park, you can also shower there for a fee. If you want to stay for more than a few days we suggest putting up a solar shower. We camp at TM for two weeks so that is what we do and it works for us.

If you have never used a solar shower, let me just say that you will be very surprised at how clean you can get and how good you will feel after showering in a couple of gallons of warm water. The trick is to set out the water in the morning where it will heat in the sun.

If you use a black solar bladder in which to heat the water, be advised that you should only fill it partially full as the water gets really hot. Just before your shower add some water from the hydrant to cool it down. Always test it first.

It is OK to bring a small wading pool for the kids. If you fill it partially in the morning and let the sun warm the water, you can let your kids use it to "clean up" in the afternoon. Just don't tell them they are taking a bath and they will probably have a better time.

Tip: Use some of that warm water in the wading pool for YOUR sponge bath before you let the kids in. Idea
