2012 Rambles

Thank you Simon

Russ,

Read the Email from 7+ this afternoon, and decided to join the Forum.
Am currently working on 2.5" scale steamer, and rolling stock,
for both personal use and sales.

Does Train Mountain have yearly memberships, or only monthly subscriptions?

Thank you,
Train Mountain has several classes of annual membership. You can find information at http://trainmountaintriennial.org/ or at http://trainmountaintriennial.org/. Most members have the $150 per year Participating Member category. This is a family membership for all family members living at your primary address.
Tom,

Thank you..., I'm just weighing my options. Years are passing, and I'm getting a little tired of Michigan. Something a little more moderate would be welcome.

Zoë
Zoë,

Have you been to Train Mountain? If not, you should visit and see it for yourself, as there is nothing else like it and it is impossible to adequately describe. Although the weather may be a little more moderate than Michigan, there are four seasons. I am 1.5 miles from TM, and had 100" of snowfall last year, but there is rarely more than 4' on the ground at any time. This year we only had half that amount. It also does get below zero here a few times each year, but doesn't stay that cold for long. We do run trains all year, and plowing snow with a train is really a blast. If you like to "play trains," or "play railroad," Train Mountain is the place with around 34 miles of track.
Tom,

Never been..., just admired from afar, through photos and video. Does seem like the kind of place where I could indulge my two favorite things to do. Build track and then run on it!

Perhaps this year, maybe next..., I'll have to come out. Would rather wait till I had my C21 finished..., well..., running..., never finished.

Thanks Russ! It was my pleasure to help out. I hope we get a heap of people and equipment joining us on the ramble it will be a heap of fun! I must also acknowledge the huge contribution of Lindsay McDonnell and my close friend Peter Laws most of the the credit must go to them. I look forward to seeing you all at the triennial and on the ramble.

Zoë,

You should try to come to the Triennial. It sounds like you like to play trains and play railroad. You might enjoy coming before and/or staying after the Triennial when we are out working on track and all thing broken.

Even if you don't bring your own train you should have no problem getting out on the rails, especially with a work crew. If you come before or after the Triennial and want to work on the railroad, we will make sure you see the whole layout. And don't forget your camera!
