From the dictionary:

pa·tience
1. The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.
2. An ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay: to have patience with a slow runner.

We are getting closer and closer to the Triennial and so things are starting to get really hectic. On top of all that we just had 6 inches of new SNOW on top of some ICY spots. This means we still have not got out on the track to start to do our annual maintenance. So what has all of this got to do with the subject heading: Patience. It is simply that we are asking you all to have a little patience with us as we try and pull off this really great event. We have some really great volunteers working very hard but please remember they are just that, really great VOLUNTEERS. A little patience will go along way to insuring we ALL have a great meet.

As you arrive at the Main Gate you will be greeted by the Main Gate volunteers that will give you your packet with all kinds of goodies in it. They will also give you some preliminary guidance as to what to do next. They may not have answers to all of your questions but they will be able to help get you started. Patience.

If you are bringing equipment, your next stop will be the unload area at Crisp Yard. If you have a trailer you will be asked to drop it off and then you can go to the South Meadow to park your vehicle. A shuttle van will be running to bring you back up to unload your equipment. There 200 folks coming with trains that need to be unloaded, please be Patient.

We already have over 200 trains registered with 3 months left to go before the event. Many of these folks have never been to Train Mountain so when they get directions to their parking place for their train such as "in the Klamath and Western West Yard" they haven't a clue where the heck that might be. If you see some blank stares, ask them if you can help and make sure they get an answer. Be Patient, they are here for the same reason as you, FUN.

If you need assistance with camping issues, garbage issues, porta potty issues, safety issues, noise issues, whatever, by all means report to one of the Committee folks, but please report it with patience and respect the fact the Committee is just volunteers as well.

Before running at Train Mountain you MUST attend a screening of the Train Mountain Safety video. Be sure you get signed up and that you get your Safety sticker on your badge and that of your Conductor. You must have a sticker on your badge to get through the Inspection Station.

Steamers must have a current bolier inspection tag from either Train Mountain or from a recognized live steam club. Coal and wood burners MUST have a spark arrestor. Because of our extreme fire danger status during the summer months the coal, oil, and wood burners are restricted from running in the northern territory. This will be strictly enforced. Remember however the southside is big enough to get Train Mountain into the Guiness Book of World Records. There is still plenty of track to run on. If your steamer needs inspection check with the unloading crew as to who to see and when to get your inspection. Over 1/3rd of the trains coming are steamers so once again please be patient, we will get you on the track as soon as possible.

The 2012 Triennial is being run by and put on by Train Mountain volunteer members. If you have questions, suggestions, whatever please feel free to contact us through this forum. Please don't contact the main office. If you do need to contact us again please be patient we will try to assist you as quickly as we can. If the weather is good we are at the track (actually we have been at the track when the weather wasn't so good Smile ). Anyhow we want to help you, so give us a try.

We are getting really excited by the great response we have been getting from the live steam community and this should end up being another great event to help Train Mountain celebrate it's 25th year and of course 'The Dream".
